The World Series of Poker announced today the 10 ten finalists for induction into the 2009 class of the Poker Hall of Fame.
Tom Dwan, Barry Greenstein, Dan Harrington, Phil Ivey, Tom McEvoy, Men Nguyen, Scotty Nguyen, Daniel Negreanu, Erik Seidel and Mike Sexton were the top nominees in a public vote on wsop.com.
Now these 10 finalists will be vetted by the 15 current Hall of Fame members and a 15-person media panel.
The 2009 class (usually one or two people) will be inducted as part of the WSOP Main Event final table festivities in November.
Established in 1979, the Poker Hall of Fame has 37 members total, 15 of whom are still living. Harrah's Entertainment acquired the Poker Hall of Fame along with the WSOP in 2004.
