DeMarco Murray of Las Vegas scored three times in Oklahoma’s 62-28 rout of Nebraska on Saturday in Norman, Okla.
Murray’s 3-yard touchdown run made it 42-7, and he added an 8-yard score near the end of the first half for a 49-14 lead.
In the third quarter, he caught a 25-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Sam Bradford that boosted the fourth-ranked Sooners’ edge to 62-21.
Oklahoma won, 62-28.
Murray, a 6-foot-1, 205-pound running back out of Bishop Gorman High, finished with 57 yards on 14 runs, and the 25-yard TD catch was his only reception of the day.
The Sooners could move up in the rankings, since Texas Tech upended top-ranked Texas on Saturday night. Second-ranked Alabama won big Saturday and No. 3 Penn State did not play.
Oklahoma plays at Texas A&M next Saturday, has a week off and then plays host to the seventh-ranked Red Raiders of Texas Tech on Nov. 22. The Sooners play at No. 9 Oklahoma State on Nov. 29.
