The Falcons, who went a spotless 0-16 in Mountain West Conference play this season, took down Colorado State on Wednesday afternoon at the Thomas & Mack Center, 71-67, in the MWC tournament's opening round contest.

Air Force will now take on BYU in the opening game on Thursday at the Mack, tipping off against the Cougars at noon, followed by San Diego State vs. UNLV at 2:30 p.m. The evening will feature Utah vs. TCU at 6 p.m., capped by New Mexico vs. Wyoming at 8:30 p.m.

The Falcons victory means that all four quarterfinal contests will be rematches from the regular season's final weekend. After losing by only three at UNLV last Wednesday, 46-43, Air Force closed its regular season with a 54-49 loss at BYU.

On Wednesday, the Falcons were paced by 18 points apiece from senior guard Andrew Henke and sophomore guard Evan Washington.

Henke hit two huge 3-pointers with hands in his face to help Air Force erase an 8-point second half deficit.
