Former Cowboy Leon Lett makes a Rebel Park appearance

Typically, UNLV students wouldn't be allowed to wander the practice fields at Rebel Park during spring ball. Or summer camp. Or the actual college football season.

For Leon Lett, an exception was made.

The former NFL defensive lineman, who won three Super Bowl rings during his 10-year run with the Dallas Cowboys during the 1990s, was roaming around sporting Rebels gear on Wednesday afternoon during the team's final practice leading up to Friday's annual spring game at Sam Boyd Stadium.

Lett is currently finishing up a degree at UNLV.

He has spoken with the team already, and after practice posed for photos with some of the current players.

Lett plans on pursuing a career in coaching in the near future.

During an 11-year NFL career, Lett, who played collegiately at Emporia State, recorded 229 tackles and 22.5 sacks in 121 games.
