On the heels of winning the William H. Tucker Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M., the No. 21 UNLV men's golf team was named Men's College Team of the Week on Monday by Golfweek.
UNLV made up a five-shot deficit on host New Mexico in the final round, led by co-medalist Eddie Olson's 2-under 70. The team posted a a 5-under 283 in the final round, winning the event by 11 strokes. It was the first win of the year for the Rebels in just their second tournament. In their first event, the Rebels took second at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational in Colorado Springs, Colo.
UNLV is back in action Oct. 13-14 at the Jerry Pate Intercollegiate in Birmingham, Ala.
