Former UNLV defensive back Eric Wright (24) intercepts an Eli Manning fourth quarter pass, which he returned 94 yards for a touchdown in Cleveland's 35-14 upset victory Monday night over the defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants at Browns Stadium. Wright, a 2007 second-round pick of Cleveland's, is tied for second in the NFL with three picks this year, and has four of them in 19 career games.

Former UNLV cornerback Eric Wright, now in his second NFL season, capped off Cleveland's surprising 35-14 Monday Night Football victory over the defending Super Bowl champ New York Giants with a 94-yard interception return for a score in the final quarter.

With the Giants trailing 27-14 in the final quarter, Eli Manning drove his team deep into Browns territory. At that point, Wright recorded his third pick of the season (tied for second in the league) and raced for pay dirt. After jumping the route and hitting the sideline, he evaded Manning's tackle attempt near midfield and high-stepped the final 10 yards or so into the end zone. A two-point conversion made it a three-touchdown edge for Cleveland, who entered play as an 8.5-point underdog.

The Browns are now 2-3 in the AFC North, tied for second in the four-team division with Baltimore. Pittsburgh holds the edge over everyone at 4-1.

The Giants were the last remaining undefeated team in the NFC heading into Monday night, and are now 4-1, still atop the NFC East by a half-game over Washington.

Wright also had two tackles in the game. That gives him 101 stops in 19 career games, along with four interceptions and 17 passes defended.
