Kruger and UNLV staff to host coaching clinic

UNLV men's basketball coach Lon Kruger and his staff will host the 2008 UNLV Runnin' Rebel Coaching Clinic on Saturday, Oct. 25, at the Thomas & Mack Center.

The clinic, open to all basketball coaches, takes place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and costs $45. The day will be split into three sessions focusing on offense, defense and baseline scoring. Participating coaches can also watch the current UNLV team conduct both its morning and afternoon practice sessions.

Following 8 a.m. registration, the first clinic - "UNLV offense playing without a true 'big' man" - will begin at 9 a.m. Then, following the Rebels' practice and lunch, the second clinic - "UNLV baseline out of bounds - scoring from the baseline" - will begin at 1:15 p.m. The third sesson - "UNLV man defense - keeping pressure on" - will begin at 2 p.m. Then will come the second UNLV practice of the day, and it will be followed by a Q&A session at 4:30 p.m.
