Ex-Rebels golfer Scott tells British GQ of college career

Professional golfer Adam Scott talked about his one season at UNLV in the November issue of British GQ.

“It was to get used to the lifestyle and open opportunities, learn how to play golf there – you know, it wasn’t quite what I expected,” the Aussie said. “But I think it was part of my learning curve.”

Scott, 28, is 39th on the PGA Tour money list this season and has made $18.4 million in his career. He has made 100 cuts in the 124 events he has entered.

He stayed in Las Vegas for less than a year, turning pro in 2000. He has a home in the Chelsea section of West London and goes to Chelsea soccer matches on occasion.

“The year in Vegas, between being a top amateur and turning pro, was a rough ride and I played really bad. Some other guys have experienced that on tour, I kind of did so before.

“I ‘learnt’ a lot about myself and golf, and my career as a professional has been so steady.”
