UNLV basketball coach Lon Kruger will host his first book-signing event Sunday, from 3-5 p.m., at Borders in Town Square.
He co-wrote “The Xs and Ox of Success” with D.J. Allen, whose local marketing company has been promoting the Rebels this season.
It is Kruger’s first effort as an author.
The book gives basketball lessons, and ingredients for success, that can be translated to the business world.
Kruger gives personal stories along the way. For instance, he writes about being aware of how bland he can be, at times, with the media.
“I’m sure I drive some members of the press a little insane,” he wrote. “As just a good ol’ boy from Silver Lake, Kansas, shooting out nothing but vanilla quote after vanilla quote, making their job a little more difficult.”
It should be noted; Kruger’s favorite ice cream is vanilla.
Most important, there are reasons for everything he says and does, and all lead to the growth and eventual success of his team.
