Kevin Kruger will be playing basketball in Sofia, Bulgaria, this season.
His father, UNLV hoops coach Lon Kruger, said he expected Kevin to sign a contract tonight or by Tuesday morning, at the latest, with a team in Sofia.
The fourth round of the NBL, the top league in Bulgaria, started this week.
“It’s a good city and a good league,” Lon Kruger said after Monday’s practice. “He’s looking forward to the opportunity. He’s fired up about it.”
Kevin Kruger led UNLV to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament two seasons ago. Last season, after he was the last player cut from Orlando in fall camp, he played for Utah in the NBA Development League.
A few weeks ago, he was cut by the guard-heavy Milwaukee Bucks.
