According to handler, Hamga to choose from five schools

In a story on Rivals.com on Wednesday, Mark Adams -- the guardian for former UNLV center Beas Hamga -- unveiled the identities of five schools considered to be the major players for the 7-footer's services.

Jerry Meyer's story identified those potential destinations as Providence, Rhode Island, Mississippi, South Carolina and Wichita State.

Adams said he's been contacted by 12 schools regarding Hamga, and there is a possibility he could be in the Sunflower State to visit WSU this weekend. The Shockers host Northern Arizona on Saturday night.

Hamga actually played against NAU earlier this season, notching a rebound and a blocked shot in seven minutes in an 87-71 UNLV victory. He was granted a release from his scholarship last Friday morning. Should he enroll at a new school prior to the spring semester, he'll be eligible to play following the fall semester next season.

  1. Beas and his handlers better get a grip on reality. He may play at Wichita but those other schools will recruit over him. Why not try the A-10 or MAC?

  2. Should of stuck it out Hamga! If you were willing to work for it, you could have been something special in a few years. Word on the street is you don't like to work, so i don't see how joining any of those sub-par programs is gonna help you make it to the pros.

  3. One look at Beas Hamga's play and even the most
unseasoned fan could tell that he needed at least two, maybe three, years to develop into an impact player. The game was too fast for him and he needed to get stronger.
