UNLV junior wide receiver Ryan Wolfe on Wednesday became the first wideout in school history to be named first team all-conference twice in a career, landing a spot on the All-Mountain West First Team.
He was also first team all-league as a freshman in 2006.
Wolfe tied a school record with his 88 receptions, and his 1,040 yards made him the school's first 1,000-yard receiver since 1994. He's currently eighth in the nation, boasting a 7.33 catch per game average. To round out his season, his five 100-yard games bumped his school record up to 10, while he also rushed for 91 yards, made seven tackles on special teams and recorded a pass breakup on defense.
Despite having played in just 36 games, Wolfe will enter his senior season as UNLV's all-time leader in receptions (204) and receiving yards (2,735).
Landing on the second team was junior linebacker Jason Beauchamp, who currently ranks seventh in the nation with a 10.58 tackle per game average. He led the MWC in tackles with 127 - the sixth-highest total in UNLV history - while also adding six tackles for loss, two sacks and a fumble recovery.
He was the MWC Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 20 after recording 21 tackles in a loss to Air Force, a total which was just one off of the school single-game record.
Four Rebels earned honorable mention, including senior running back Frank Summers (740 rush yards, 8 TDs, 13 receptions, 150 yards, 2 TDs), senior receiver Casey Flair (49 receptions, 560 yards), senior guard Johan Asiata (zero sacks allowed) and sophomore defensive tackle Malo Taumua (27 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, one sack, one blocked field goal).
