Automobile magnate Cliff Findlay raised $24,900 over the weekend to assist fellow ex-UNLV basketball player Glen Gondrezick’s medical expenses.
Two weeks ago, Gondrezick, who suffers from congenital heart disease, was admitted to UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, where he awaits a heart transplant.
Fourteen of Findlay’s area car dealerships pledged $100 for every vehicle they sold Friday and Saturday. Findlay CFO Tyler Corder reported that the dealerships sold 249 vehicles.
A special Glen Gondrezick, or “Gondo,” fund has been established at area Bank of America branches to provide further financial assistance.
Gondrezick, UNLV’s longtime radio analyst, has a type 1-A designation, which is at the top of the UCLA Medical Center list for transplant candidates.
