The “declaration” that wasn’t, courtesy of the county GOP

I am late to this, folks, but I finally saw a copy of that putative declaration that participants in the special, so-called Adelson caucus had to sign on Feb. 4 to take part in that nighttime event.

You may recall the caucus, pushed for by Sheldon Adelson and others, was held at the Sands chairman's eponymous school because of objections that the Jewish sabbath prevented some from caucusing before sundown.

The document, which I have posted at right, is ridiculous, and not just because the first word -- "Declartion" -- is spelled wrong. The county party actually thought by forcing folks to sign this piece of paper, they could threaten them with perjury. Really?

Well, considering dozens of Ron Paul folks swarmed the event and signed, where are the cops?

I'll have a final (I hope!) post-mortem on the caucus disaster in my Sunday column in the Las Vegas Sun.
