Station Casino executives, former U.S. Senate candidate Lowden attend Adelson-hosted briefing with Ryan

Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012 | 9:24 a.m.

About 35 major Las Vegas donors attended a briefing late Tuesday with newly minted vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan at The Venetian, a well-placed source confirms.

Several are associated with Station Casinos, including Lorenzo Fertitta, Tom Breitling, Tim Poster (UPDATED: Poster is an executive with Wynn, who is an investor in Fertitta Interactive, the web gaming product from the Station folks.) and Ultimate Fighting Championship boss Dana White. What's interesting is that the Station folks, especially Breitling, who founded Ultimate Gaming for the Fertittas, and Poster, are pushing for web gaming, which Sheldon Adelson, who was there with his wife, Miriam, vociferously opposes.

Also there: Former U.S. Senate hopeful and ex-GOP state Chairwoman Sue Lowden and her husband, Paul; businessmen Tim Cashman and Bill Brady, who hosted Mitt Romney earlier this year in Las Vegas; and Craig Estey, the founder of Dotty's, which has been fighting the big gamers for awhile now over his slot parlors.

I am told no money changed hands but there was talk of future fundraisers for the ticket.
