Reid the Elder is up 45-40 over Sharron Angle
Reid the Younger is down to Brian Sandoval, 45-39
Survey conducted this week for Retail Association of Nevada by nationally known Public Opinion Strategies pollster Glen Bolger. RAN is releasing today. Lots of good information on taxes, judical questions also in poll, which is posted at right.

I wonder how much the close in the gap with Sandoval is due to Rory's deceptive ads. Given the fact that the horrific truth about those ads is now coming to light, I imagine that Sandoval will distance himself from Reid again. 6 points is still a lot when Rory has dominated the airwaves lately.
This poll is radically different than the previous polls, but -- if true -- Sharron's in deep trouble. When she won the primary, she was polling at above 50% against Harry, only a few months later, it appears she's bottoming-out closer to the 30's.
I fully expect Karl Rove's "American Crossroads" carpetbagging attack group to begin hammering Reid next month, but it seems independents don't care for Sharron Angle's radical agenda.
Rory still has a ways to go but the numbers have improved drastically, while Harry's message seems to be reaching more moderate voters.
Crazy Sharron's 15 minutes of fame will end soon. She's headed for a decisive defeat.
The Republicant propaganda machine is finally running out steam and Karl Rove's lies are being seen through and a lot of their money is spent for nothing. Now they finally realize the public has not forgot their lies and deceit.
November 2nd is looming and they are beginning to get a good look at reality. The public is tired and disgusted with their lies about what they will do for the average taxpayers, while touting how they will help big business and the wealthy.
Never, ever vote for a Republicant.
I would be interested to see if the poll matches historic turnout statistics/ratios (political party, race, age, etc...). It also didn't indicate the sample size, what part of the state that those who were polled resided or the margin of error. Other than that, it looks like a moderately Republican "push poll" that is fairly well crafted.
There is absolutely no comparison between Sandoval and either Gibbons or Ensign. Sandoval is the best candidate we have had for any office in ages. The one advantage Rory had was money (which makes comments about Sandoval's donors funny), and he is spending it in ways that even Ralston has called "out of bounds."
Sandoval has a big lead despite remaining relatively silent. What happens when he starts running ads showing Rory with his jailed colleagues on the County Commission? G-Sting was not that long ago. What happens when Sandoval starts pointing out the fact that Rory and his all-Democrat crew on the commission have run the County and a hospital into the ground by paying off every Democratic special interest group that put them there? What happens when the general public learns that Rory has edited an interview and fibbed quite lavishly in his ads? What happens when it comes to light that Rory's campaign is being run behind the curtain by Democratic lobbyist, County lobbyist, and spokesman for the teachers' union Dan Hart?
What happens is that Sandoval crushes Rory, and Nevadans (many of whom are Independent) vote for the best candidate for office.
The poll is based on general population and not likely voters.
Those polls favor Democrats.
Nevada has been a blue state for several years.

I never heard of the organization taking the poll. The only credible poll is PEW and Ramussman . Both Reids will lose . Wait for the debate if Dingy Harry shows up.Don't count on it. He didn't show in person yesterday. Your Senate majority leader didn't get a vote to extend or eliminate the Bush tax cuts.He really caries alot of weight.

It says they've been around for almost 20 years, done thousands of polls and their clients include mostly Republicans (see list of Rep. senators who have been clients, e.g. Scott Brown, DeMint, etc.)

Dipstick, there are inaccuracies in your comments. Btw the Dems in congress overwhelmingly voted with the repubs for the authorization to use force on Iraq for noncompliance. In addition you had dem politicians cheerleading all the way to sad dams capture---until the war went south. The dems are a party with no spine, Harry Reid and company cry about taxes on the rich yet pass up on the vote in congress. It really goes to show that the dems party is much more about expediency and getting elected versus the other party.
Social security and Medicare is rising much faster than defense spending. I haven't heard a dem propose a viable idea to fix it.
This newspaper is so in Reid's pocket that it requires you to give them your phone number if you want to comment on their main comment page. Do they then give it to Reid's campaign group to harrass one?
I wouldn't vote for either Reid if they were the only ones running! Harry Reid no longer represents us. He has worked against the majority of us for the last two years as he's crammed bill after bill down our throats. And Rory is nothing but a chip off the corrupt old block.

I have listen to and read all i could find on the first (3), and i'm concerned. when you take money from corporation's or Industries, they are expecting something in return. What i learned today was shocking, the Repbulican's New Pledge to America, was directed by a staffer name Brian Wild who was a Washington Lobbyist, and worked for John Boehner, Wild was also at AIG, Finnie & freddie. Mr. Wild, until April of this year, was a registered lobbyist working for some of the most entrenched special interests in Washington. Now he's on House Republican Leader John Boehner's (Ohio) government payroll and responsible for the "Pledge."
Huffington Post's Sam Stein reports that Wild, as a lobbyist at the Nickels Group, "was paid $740,000 in lobbying contracts from AIG, the former insurance company at the heart of the financial collapse; $800,000 from energy giant Andarko Petroleum; more than $1.1 million from Comcast; more than $1.3 million from Exxon Mobil; and $625,000 from the pharmaceutical company Pfizer Inc." Wild has been in and out of the influence-peddling game -- having served on the government payrolls of a number of Republican members of Congress (Pat Toomey, Hank Brown) and even Vice President Dick Cheney. Between government payroll gigs, he served as a lobbyist for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and represented major utilities and mining organizations.
So it's the same story, different day from congressional Republicans. It has been reported that lobbyists have written floor speeches for House Republicans and bills for Senate Republicans. Now lobbyists are writing the agenda for House Republicans as they pretend to be free from lobbyist and special-interest influence.

Why would Sinister Reid run an Ad on TV saying that he never supported allowing illegal alien's social security? Then he says he never has, and never will. But this is what his Congressional voting record say Senator Harry Reid of Nevada

Voted NO on building a fence along the Mexican border. (Sep 2006) Again Senister Reid in a latest TV Ad suggest the He was all along for securing our Borders, Senator Reid ONLY became interested recently, why the interest in Our Borders NOW Harry, oh; it's an election year, got it.
Voted YES on continuing federal funds for declared "sanctuary cities". (Mar 2008) Here Senator Reid voted for our tax dollars to go to other states, and cities that support Cities who in effect help illegal aliens break our laws. There should now be a so-called Sanctuary city in this country where criminal can hide out and populate this is madness.
Voted YES on Congressional pay raise. (Jul 2009) How about the pay raise he voted for himself, while Nevadans are losing their homes and jobs, the Sinister votes himself a PAYRAISE- WOW what a greedy Man. He's already filthy rich, and in July of 2009 he votes for ANOTHER PAY RAISE.
I just do not believe these figures. How could the Reids (the next Mayor and Dog Catcher in Searchlight) gain when all they do is lie and take their opponents words and statements out of context.
And, dennis williams your screen name fits you well. Yes, billions are being spent in Iraq and Afghanistan to scure the freedoms you and I enjoy daily. However, you failed to mention, that HALF AGAIN the combined cost of those wars (150%) is spent on the welfare costs of illegal immigrants, free public services afforded them, cost of educating their children, cost of medically trating them, cost of incarcerating their criminals and other social programs they ILLEGALLY take advantage of. And, yet this Administration which includes Dirty Harry Reid, sues those who attempt to enforce our immigration laws while Harry Reid proposes to grant them amnesty.
