Here's the statement I received from Dema Guinn about the race, with the clear implication her late husband, GOP Gov. Kenny Guinn, would have been a Republican for Reid, too:
I want to thank so many people from across this state for the outpouring of support they have shown me and my family since Kenny’s passing. While it has been very difficult to adjust to a new life without him, my family and our many friendships have been a constant source of strength for me.
As many people know, with the loss of someone so close comes an almost daily reminder of things you wish you had said, but didn’t, or things you wish you had done, but for one reason or another never took the time to do. These new perspectives give you great resolve to stand up for things you may have once ignored or speak out on issues on which you may have remained silent in the past.
I love this state, and my husband loved this state. We dedicated our lives to public service in one way or another through our support of education, many charitable and community causes, and eventually in his holding public office. All of these efforts were our way of trying to make Nevada a better place to live and raise a family.
Kenny believed very strongly in education. He believed it was the single most important element to a successful life, vibrant state and strong economy. With better education came better jobs, and the ability for people of all economic circumstances, race, or handicap to take control of their lives and their future.
Given the challenges Nevada now faces in education and unemployment, our collective efforts in these areas and the choices we make on who will lead our state through these difficult times are more important than ever.
That is why I am supporting Senator Harry Reid for reelection.
Senator Reid’s unwavering support for vital education programs such as the Millennium Scholarship, together with his tireless efforts to create new jobs and protect Nevada businesses from the unprecedented challenges we have faced during these trying economic times earned my respect, and my vote.

I guess all the sane Republicans in this state can't stand Sharrontology and her extremism. And Dema would know, since she saw how her husband had to fight her and her faction over the state budget and education. Sharrontology is like cancer to good public policy, and even Republicans know it. That's why none of us in Nevada can afford her. (And why Obtuse Angle has to rely on outsiders like California lobbyist Sal Russo and South Carolina Senator Jim DeMint for her "Nevada" campaign.)
No question, the late Gov. Guinn would've endorsed Harry Reid... he wouldn't have tolerated the closed-minded, extreme views and positions of Sharron Angle for a second and we shouldn't either.
All you haters that want to call these crossover Republicans RINO's, have at it, you've chased moderate lifetime Republicans like me out of the party. Enjoy your Klan rallies, cause that's what it amounts to now.
Guinn was the worst governor. We may never be able to reel in all the taxing and spending he did.
He may have been a nice guy, but he sure stuck it to everyone in this state that doesn't work for government. Of course Guinn would have endorsed reid . When the term RINO was coined, Guinn was the posterchild.
Another good ole RINO gal supporting Harry Greed. so she supports 14% unemployment...highest foreclosures....a lifestyle of food stamps .. and healthcare for the voters but not for her and harry. Must be nice . but then as Obama once said ..thats why we have elections. Cant wait..
Dirty Harry is now so desperate that he's scrambling to get endorsement from anyone he could pay. He knows he's behind the latest polls and afraid of losing power.

It's official;
Anyone with an ounce of common sense has come out for Harry; even respected Republicans.
Anyone with Bonafide NutJob credentials has come out for CraZy AnGle.

It means that even those whose interests aren't necessarily served by a Democrat know that voting for Harry Reid is the RIGHT CHOICE for Nevada.

I'm sorry but I would never endorse someone who was part of the current economic mess that Harry Reid has left us in. 24 years in the senate and look what we're left with. Another reason why Carrer and Politicians should NEVER be in the same sentence. Obama, Reid, and Peolsi's policies have FAILED, period. All 3 are Progressives.
So after Ms. Angle turns out Reid in a few weeks, does this mean all of you rabid, liberal, socialist water carrying Dems will leave and go back to California?

Kudos to both Dema Guinn and Senator Raggio for recognizing the importance of supporting Senator Reid. I thank both for so doing.

It's time for all thinking Nevadans to realize that the one thing this state cannot afford is Sharron Angle in Washington D.C.
You dirty nasty people. To former First Lady Dema, I am a dyed in the wool Democrat, but I voted for your husband. What a great decision that turned out to be. He was the best Governor we ever had!! These little "piglets" probably don't even know everything that Governor Guinn did for this state. Probaly in the same diapers that they are in today!
All the important Republicans now back Reid. The only support Angle has are a few washed up teabags and a handfull of hate talk radio NUTS.
Thank you, Mrs. Guinn, for putting NV and our country before politics. You are an example of a true patriot, as was your late husband. We need more Americans like you who are willing to take a stand and demonstrate their dedication to NV and our country.

Sharron Angle, imo, is insane especially in light of her Sharia law taking over America comment. Frankford, Texas? Really? Someone should inform Sharron that Frankford was annexed by Dallas in 1975. I guess she thinks that Dallas is under Sharia law. Did anyone tell Dallas or Rick Perry for that matter? The woman is crazy and ignorant.

Democratic Senator Barbara Boxer, who has used the race card and has the same Modus Operandi as Sen. Harry Reid in enacting new laws to maintain illegal immigration. First bill in the next session of the Senate , will be another try at Amnesty by Reid, Pelosi and Napolitano. Voting--YES--on funding Sanctuary Cities (March 2008), even when deaths at the hands of illegal alien criminals has spiraled out of control; Voted--YES--on Comprehensive Immigration Reform--Amnesty; Voted--NO--In declaring the English official language of government; that would save millions of dollars in judicial documents in 176 foreign languages and professional translators for court appearances (June 2007). Voted--YES--on another Guest Worker program (May 2006), resembling the 1986 Immigration Control and Reform Act gave Amnesty that upped the population and in addition voted--YES--on illegal aliens being able to participate in our Social Security system (May 2006), that is on the rocks now and then providing Social Services to non citizens.
Heaven help us---Americans have worked all their lives so there able to collect Social Security to keep them afloat for the rest of their lives. But Barbara Boxer has attracted the people's outrage to join the rest of the Liberal crowd to enact this legislation, allowing foreigners who have never paid into this financial pool access to our Social Security? In my view as a Tea Party advocate--ALL these incumbents should be shown the road out of town, tarred and feathered. Federal law already has mandated free health care for anybody, who can dodge the US border Guards, plus education for their children and an overcrowded prison system. Estimates are over a hundred billion dollars a year, with a large proportion spent to support the instant citizenship of babies intentionally born here. None of these massive taxpayer funds cover the draining of public welfare at the State, County and city outpouring of welfare payment in services and cash.
Los Angeles is just one haven for illegal aliens and expenditures will keep skyrocketing upwards, if the majority of Democratic Liberals in Sacramento are not removed. California cannot pay its bills, because the amount expended to support the 2.5 million illegal alien households in the county. In the midterm elections watch cautiously illegal aliens violating federal voting laws. Be particularly observant of absentee balloting, as it's not that complicated for foreigners to vote and alter the direction of voting numbers. The whole system of "Honor Voting" has been compromised in the last ten years and may have severe implications in close races in LA and in every other precinct across the country.
Yes, we must keep Reid, Pelosi, Boxer, and Obama in office. Now, all you Kool-Aid drinkers get back in the unemployment line!
