The exact number of early and mail voters: 33,806 -- that's just under 5 percent of registered voters in Clark County (4,534 voted early Wednesday, second straight day of declining numbers). With nearly one week complete and if historical norms hold -- 60 percent voting before Election Day -- the southern turnout is going to be putrid.
The partisan breakdown:
Republicans: 11,114 early and 4,192 by mail for 15,306 total -- 6.6 percent of registered Republicans
Democrats: 11,279 early and 4,222 by mail for 15,501 total -- 4.9 percent of registered Democrats
(In Northern Nevada, record numbers are voting -- 8,797 have voted early, 53 percent of those Republicans. That could be an advantage for Sharron Angle, although Sue Lowden's campaign to marginalize her may be having an impact, too.)

I just looked for a study on correlations between primary voting and general election turnout in Nevada elections, but couldn't find any. Does anyone know if the pathetically low Republican turnout in this hotly contested primary bodes ill for the "winner" in November? Anyone? Bueller?
Sue Lowden is the only candidate that can beat Harry Reid. Come to your senses. Sharon Angle is a true Conservative but it will take someone in the middle to tip the scales away from Reid. That is why he has been running ads for the others. Give me a break. Last night on Jon Ralston whom is extremely biased he would not even let her answer the questions he posed for her. Jon is in Harry's back pocket too! Used to have a lot of respect for John - No Longer let the woman answer.
Sharon cannot get enough of the middle votes from all parties to kick Searchlight Backdoor Harry out of office. Reid's cronies know it and so does he! That's why the post on here all the time.
Vote Sue Lowden for Senate and take our State Back.
Jon's point about waiting for more information is critical, especially in light of the new revelations in the state Senate GOP primary involving Dennis Nolan.
ProgressNow has an online voter guide that does get updated http://www.nevadavoterguide.org
Thxs for the solid practical advise on waiting to vote.
I welcome the candidates back and forth on their records. It is a good way to get to the facts and may be the only way we can get the facts.
I don't buy into the idea of voting for Lowden because she can beat Reid. I have to vote for the candidate who will represent my values and interests.
The idea of holding my nose and voting for Lowden just doesn't work. I'd rather vote for Angle and be able to sleep well at night.
Either way, hopefully the voters come out and VOTE!
I'm always amazed at the difference between all the complaining I hear day in and day out and then the miserable voting turnout in Nevada. If you don't like how things are going don't complain if you didn't even vote. And to do even more, send money to your candidate of choice. Or even better, run for office.
I have always voted for the values espoused by the Democratic Party. My votes were cast early for Senator Reid and Commissioner Chairman Reid. I was brought up to see the need to assist the poor in their struggles. I was told that you should treat everyone the same. It seems to me that our most urgent problems now are education for the young and a commitment to solar and wind energy. My candidates can solve these problems.
