By now you probably have either read the 2,500-word piece Kathy Karrasch wrote for the Reno News and Review or saw her appearance on “Face to Face” on Monday evening – or both. I have no desire to belabor this distasteful story, but I did need to post an addendum.
In her first-person piece and in the “Face to Face” interview, Karrasch makes it clear she was never interested in Gibbons beyond friendship. She stuck to that story. So imagine her surprise – indeed she had the same “deer in the headlights” look she snidely described Chrissy Mazzeo as having – when I presented the letter at right to her after the interview. (The letter was obtained by “Face to Face” Executive Producer Dana Gentry.) Karrasch was stunned, didn’t offer much of an explanation but authenticated it. She asked me to redact the name of the man in the letter, which I agreed to do.
Judge for yourself – it appears to have been written shortly before she and the governor went to DC, just in advance of his Feb. 8 State of the State this year, and can be read as undermining her claims of having no feelings for the governor.
And here are the links to the program and Karrasch’s piece:

Jon, are you suggesting that Karrasch and Gibbons could have had more than just a friendship????? That they lied to the good folks of Nevada?
OMG!
After watching last night's show, my only thought was: "The lady doth protest too much, methinks." (Hamlet) ...meaning, the lady is assuring too much and is usually lying either to herself or to the audience. Is she trying to convince us or herself??????
This is a sad story. In some ways I really wish Gibbons would simply drop out of the primary. He is doing nobody (including himself) any favors by staying in. His strange and despicable attacks on Sandoval indicate a campaign untethered to reality. Certainly these distractions offer no help.
Perhaps I understand Gibbons' persistence. The persistence of his supporters in this primary (the non-Reid plants), however, remains discouraging. He has done some good things for Nevada, but the distractions and missteps have gone on too long.
The letter states it all!!! Karrasch is a liar and a cheat. She has been for years. Karrasch did something to piss of Gibbons, or Gibbons knows she is a threat now to his campaign. Karrasch even talks about the gifts he has givin her over the years, this is really sick stuff. Why lie to the people of the State Of Nevada, does she really think we are that stupid.... Gibbons is the most corrupt Governor this State will ever have, and I know first hand what kind of man he really is.
Jon,
I wish you had shown her this letter when she was still on the air. People will soon realize what a liar she is.
Kathy had the nerve to claim on your show that she was a good Christian Woman. Apparently Kathy must be a different type of Christian, who wasn't raised with the 10 Commandments.
Why doesn't she want anyone to know who her Mystery "Entertainment" man is? Perhaps there really wasn't anything going on between her and Greg Von Schottenstein?
Gibbons and his pecadillos are a ongoing source of amusement for the state, and probably the country.
Karrasch did nothing but lie, does she have any idea how to tell the truth?
She and Gibbons are two of a kind. Neither one of them would know the truth if it hit them in the face.
How EASILY they lie!!!
When found out, how EASILY they lie some more!
For a guy who hasn't had sex since the 1960's,
Gym sure has a lot of women problems!
And this is newsworthy because.....
They guys a pig - who in their right mind would vote for such scum? It's OUR money that provides his paycheck, people. Is this the kind of employee you want on YOUR payroll? I sure as hell don't want him on mine!
Jon: While I hope you stick by your statement to refrain from belaboring this story and the entire subject. Just as I cared not one whit about the Clinton debaucle or the Ensign flap, the love life of the man in the empty suit interests me even less. What does interest me is the notion of his supporters that others of his supporters are Reid plants, i.e. that they acknowledge Reid's view that he is the weakest of the republican contenders in the general election. One would think his supporters would think him the strongest if they worthy of support in the primary. Or do they back him knowing that they are falling on their sword?
