Karrasch to Gibbons: “I don’t have to hear who you’re dating these days”

By now you probably have either read the 2,500-word piece Kathy Karrasch wrote for the Reno News and Review or saw her appearance on “Face to Face” on Monday evening – or both. I have no desire to belabor this distasteful story, but I did need to post an addendum.

In her first-person piece and in the “Face to Face” interview, Karrasch makes it clear she was never interested in Gibbons beyond friendship. She stuck to that story. So imagine her surprise – indeed she had the same “deer in the headlights” look she snidely described Chrissy Mazzeo as having – when I presented the letter at right to her after the interview. (The letter was obtained by “Face to Face” Executive Producer Dana Gentry.) Karrasch was stunned, didn’t offer much of an explanation but authenticated it. She asked me to redact the name of the man in the letter, which I agreed to do.

Judge for yourself – it appears to have been written shortly before she and the governor went to DC, just in advance of his Feb. 8 State of the State this year, and can be read as undermining her claims of having no feelings for the governor.

And here are the links to the program and Karrasch’s piece:
