Here are the final Clark and Washoe partisan breakdowns of early and mail voting, with large turnouts on the last day in each county, including almost 14,000 in the South and almost 5,000 in the North:
Clark:
Republicans: 48,687, or 21.1 percent
Democrats: : 43,038, or 13.5 percent
Washoe (does not include mail):
Republicans: 14,381, or 17.1 percent
Democrats: 9,927, or 11.7 percent
Looks like GOP turnout may well get to 30 percent after the votes are tallied Tuesday. Not unusually low or high.

This has to tell old harry Reid he is finished. The enthusiasm gap shows with more than double the percentage of Republicans voting than the democrats.
Without ACORN hitting the streets with their phony double votes the State of Nevada is making a hard right turn. Remember in November.
Good-bye, Harry - Hello, Sue!
The gap between the Dems and Republicans doesn't necessarily carryover to the general election. Since the Republicans are actually choosing a senate candidate whereas Reid is very likely to be the Democratic candidate thus the lower sense of urgency by the Democtatic voters to turn out and vote.
The GOP turnout is due to the 3 person race (Angle-Lowden-Tarkanian).
If Angle wins, look for a small percentage of the GOP vote to switch to Reid or sit out.
There are more dems than repubs overall, what people should have should up in droves to decide between Reid and Fred Conquist? The teapeople are at each others throats...a right wing talker went ballistic at a hillbilly teabag event and shouted down poor Danny Tark... I don't know if it's just because the guy was demoted to a shorter afternoon show or its just that they know that Reid is looking good right now since Angle has pasted up Lowden.
Grand Ole Party, what what!
Republics should have every reason for a large turnout but it's been mediocre at best. Where is the enthusiasm we saw months ago when tea poseurs mobilized a few thousand kooks to Seearchlight for the Harry Reid Bashathon?
Most likely, right wingers are starting to get that sinking feeling that another crushing defeat is just around the corner.
I agree with LastThroes.
It seems, from the comments, that the RepubliCANNOTs are so desperate for good news they twist, mold, form, re-form, kick, slap and de-oxidize pretty much all information to suit their needs.
The truth of the matter is this is just a primary. And Republicans are voting to come up with an idea on who they want to run. But the truth of the matter is they don't have much to work with. On one hand, you have the Chicken Lady. On the other, you have the retired government lady...who complains about big government...the same government that is paying her retirement. And sandwiched in between these two TaliBunnies, you have More Bark Than Bite Tark.
The truth is Democrats are not interested in any of those above idiots. That's the reason for their less than average numbers showing up.
But commenters just see an opportunity, any opportunity, to slam Senator Reid. The way it's been going lately, we could be having a spirited discussion on how to make strawberry cheesecake and then, somehow, someway, somewho, the whole discussion takes a 360 degree left turn slamming Reid, Obama and Pelosi they they have destroyed cheese in America and them illegal immigrants are picking strawberries that American citizens should be picking! (NOTE: In the right wing rants, you absolutely HAVE TO include all three together. They are all duplicious nazoid communistic socialist chopstick users! You only mention Pelosi, it don't have the same effect. It HAS TO be Pelosi/Reid/Obama cabal of impending doom! Just the way it is...)
But what gets me is all this heated talk is only focused on getting Senator Reid voted out. Period. Without any clue on who will replace him. And alot of these people who are doing this are not even from Nevada. An example of this is the ad by one of Dracula's daughters (Mary Cheney) that has been shown lately.
So, I guess it's all predictable.
It only shows that Senator Reid is the only choice for me in November 2010. Because the way it looks now, those lining up against him, if you vote for one of them, it's pretty much like carefully placing an ice cube on a sidewalk in Las Vegas on a hot July afternoon. Very, very soon you end up with nothing.
There is not one Republican candidate that inspires anything other than the same old B.S. song and dance. They can say what they want about Reid...it's takes a lot more than just empty promises and sound bites to achieve the level he has in the US Senate. I am amazed at how Nevadan's don't realize that if one of these funny people is elected, our state will be at the bottom of the barrel with little to no voice. My vote goes to Harry! You go boy!
More spin, lies and pure B.S. from republican
posters here.
Even when these greedy republicans lose
elections, they still don't get it.
Give em HELL HARRY.
Man, you repub's really have your beaks in the sand.
Where on earth are you getting your information?
You do not have a viable candidate capable of beating ol' Harry. Sioux Lowdown has personally seen to that.
BTW...
Remember when Nevada had TWO United States Senators???
Unless Ensin resigns, we'll be one short until 2012!!!
That ain't right, and you Republicans know it.
Hopefully Clark County knows to say NO to Spend-it-all-Sandoval. Despite Sandoval's ads, he was instrumental in forcing the largest tax increase in Nevada history. HERE'S THE SMOKING GUN: http://slashpolitics.lvcitylife.com/2010...
Harry now has the power to give Navada everything and has done so from the day he took office, - do you really want to vote for another person that will vote No!!! Nothing!!! Nada!! Nix!!! zilch!! ,zip!!! Zero!! No!!! Bupkus!!, !!! that cares more for the party then for the people, the country, and Nevadans?????
