That's the pitch in a fundraising letter Sen. John Ensign sent out this week for his legal defense fund.

If I cared about how a politician acts, then you can add Clinton to the mix. I care more about the bills a politician votes for or against. I will take a cheating John Ensign over a moron Harry Reid any day.

Ah yes, Ronald Reagan's old strategy of toe the party line no matter what. The thing I love most about Republilibertariteawhatevers is that they all repeat the same rubbish over and over and over again like robots hoping that no one is smart enough to realize that their argument is completely assanine. I mean Bill Clinton really? That was well in excess of a decade ago and I suppose that since Clinton had an affair that it makes it ok that Ensign did too and then bribed all parties involved to play nice. Clinton was rung through an impeachment hearing. Ensign has been tanning himself and praying with his C Street friends that the Feds don't really go after him.
I think it was John Ensign who called for Clinton to resign? Clinton played a little "hide the cigar" in the White House. Ensign banged his wife's best friend since childhood, his employee, his right hand man's wife, his neighbor and his lets go to church and keep the promise family in arms. Even my dog won't sh1t where he spends his time.
Frankly, all the above is none of my business, and that is ok with with me. But having let yourself be "blackmailed" and then getting mommy and daddy to pay off the mistress! Please even Nevada is not that stupid....opps forgot you elected Jimbo "grope a dope" because Sig forgot to pay her upfront Gibbons.
Ensign states in his letter that he admitted to the worst mistake of his life. He did, finally, but only because he was caught and about to be exposed in the national media.
Today, the worst mistake in his life is not having the integrity, honesty, morals or decency to resign and not continue to inflict embarassment on his family, friends, the citizens of Nevada - and especially on those of us who supported him and voted for him.

Senator, I don't know if your attorney has explained this to you, but that isn't CREW that is issuing subpoenas to your staff, business and political contacts, and so on - that is a criminal investigation, looking into allegations that you broke various federal laws. What you did with your penis is not at issue; this is about what you did with your influence and authority as a Senator.
So who above wants Jim Gibbons to appoint a replacement?
To texexnv, When one breaks SEVERAL Federal laws, it will take a while to convict them, well past Nov 2nd. Gibbons will be history by then. I do not think Sandoval nor Reid, whoever wins, will appoint anyone who will be another embarrrassment To the GREAT State of Nevada!
Senator Ensign voted no on the jobs bill, unemployment, health care reform, financial reform, you name it, he always says no. His voting record is so miserable that I would probably be safe to say that he has no clue what that button next to the "no" one even says.
And his personal life is a disgrace. He is still being investigated not only for possibly felonies by the FBI, but also for ethics violations by the Senate Ethics Committee. He is so mired in personal problems he don't appear in front of cameras anymore. His constituents barely know if he is alive. He has disappeared from view.
Don't send him money.
Send him prophylactics and a lawyer.
He would have more use for them.

Let's see, we have Fox News talking head Dick Morris yesterday and now John Ensign. Fornicator of the day. Ensign, who called on Clinton to resign. I agree with Ensign, Clinton should have resigned. And now I encourage Ensign to do the same.
Where is Angle on this issue? Why isn't she speaking out for his head?
I can see it now. Brian "I'm gonna cut our education by ANOTHER $800 million dollars even though we're dead last now" Sandoval will win the governorship. Ensign will suddenly resign, to everyone's surprise, and Sandoval will immediately appoint himself to his spot. Sandoval will have once again quit another elected post without actually filling the post and will appoint someone even more destructive to the governors seat. As always Nevada will get exactly what it asked for, even dumber voters and a larger population of poverty ridden citizens.
It is mind boggling that these companies are contributing to an event on 9/11 to help a Senator's legal fund - wouldn't it have been better publicity to contribute to the families who have loved ones fighting because of the result of 9/11. What were those PR people thinking?
I don't think it matters which side of the fence they're on (Red or Blue) I believe they're all corrupt one way or another. I never thought I'd ever live to see the day when almost all politicians in this country are morally bankrupt.

Boy jon, there are candidates running for office in your state that can't even get a story from any of your media friends and your wasting your time on this morally challenged ensign. Who really gives a crap about his "money problems". You live in a state with record unemployment and people out there running that are trying to fix the problems and you and your SUN paper know about them but do not write anything.. Get real Jon and if you can't cover real news maybe you shouldnt be a reporter.

Besides criticising Ensign, "crew" took on Rangle and Maxine Waters, as well as the "Sean Hannity Freedom Concert" (to be held in Las Vegas 8/27-sponsored by a local right wing Republican News Station.) They said only a small amount of the proceeds went to veterans causes. So they are not left wing, they are middle of the bird.
This is why you don't see Sue Lowden or Danny T. uniting under the GOP standard to campaign for Sharron (Whackjob) Angle....they know Ensign 2012 is dead in the water. Better to wait a couple of years for easier pickings!
Senator Ensign, if you intend to continue as an elected official representing Nevada Voters, then by all means START BY HONORING YOUR PLEDGE TO CONSTITUENTS, forget about crying for money and blaming everyone except the man in the mirror.

I will tell you exactly who will get Ensign's seat. If he resigns before the yeart is out, Gibbons will appoint Dean Heller. If Sandoval wins, and he most likely will, and Ensign resigns next year, Sandoval will appoint Dean Heller to the seat. Heller gets to be a senator -- no fuss, no muss. Question. If by chance Rory wins and Ensign resigns, is he bound to appoint another Republican to fill the seat?
