In a startling and stinging news release, Scott Ashjian, the bane of the GOP, says that a deputy district attorney and former county GOP chairman wrongly tried to prosecute him on bad-check charges, that no arrest warrant was issued and that he has contacted the FBI about efforts to intimidate him.

Don't pass checks when you don't have the money in your account is the simple solution.
I thought the DEMS were bad!! But these GOP'S in Nevada will eat there young. This race has the potencial to shake the very core of the GOP. And why would this GOP chairman be so STUPID to do this anyway!! I heard he was runnig for judge, do we really want a guy like this making decisions from the bench? Hey Bernie where's the Clark County GOP $$$$$$$$$$?
The NutJobs will do and say ANYTHING to discredit this "plant". How sad and desperate.

It looks like local government is trying to protect Harry 'the thug' Reid.

This is what happens when you challenge the entrenched republican interests in the state. If you don't fall in line, they will crucify you.

So somehow.....Republicans .... have cast a spell on him and made him look the other way while his Deputy DA broke the law.
Ashjian strongest supporter is ksand99 followed by Gmag by Reid and then the Democratic Party.
If Ashjian had a rally in Searchlight...ksand99 and gmag would be the first goofs there.
Only goofs like ksand99 and gamg believe in this silly story by Ashjian.
Ashjian says that he legally did not honor the check. So if that is true then why did he cut another check to cover the ealier check plus court fee cost in an agreement with the DA to get a criminal case dismissed.
If he is in the right and the DA's office is so evil then this would be a great way to prove to Nevada that he is a man of principles and will fight for what is right and against evil.
Gmag and ksand really believe this man to be a man of principles.
He is a joke and he has a bus full of joker supporters.
The next thing we will hear is that IRS that has a massive lien against him to be a tool of the Republican party too.
Gmag and ksand will be lap dogs ranting about how bad the Republican controlled IRS is.

I was pointing out that the republicans saw him and pounced like piranhas.
They decided to crucify him in order to give their candidate a better shot at the election.
Is Ashjian guilty of the things he has been accused of? I don't have that answer, I don't know the facts.
I do know that Sgt James F Nance Jr Rock and his buddies from the GOP have been relentlessly attacking Ashjian, slinging mud, accusations and lies as quickly as they could... before they knew any facts.

Again in one breath, you say you don't have the facts which is true about 99.9% of the time.
In the next breath, you wave your little magic wand and declare that you know the truth about everything and state that "lies" have been spread about Ashjian.
So how either fess up and and say again you have no freaking clue about anything or list these lies and please state with detail which Republican stated them.

Who are you FOR in the senate contest?
I think in the end you will wind up voting for Harry. Harry is not very telegenic, not to good with a microphone in his mouth, and seems kind of doddering at times.
When you stack him up against his competition though the contrast is stark.
1. He is a seasoned legislator who is an America firster.
2. He does not have trouble keeping his zipper up.
3. He's in good with the NRA
4. It will almost certainly be his last run for office.
5. He's got the ear of the leader of the free world whenever he needs it.
6. He's got real family values. Not fake at all in this regard.
7. He's about the process, not trying to be a political rock star.
In other words -- he does his job.
Contrast this with the 2 leading repubs. one has serious issues with unions, and the other is only there because of name recognition, with little in the way of legislative expertise.
I think the little voice inside you will vote for Harry.

I would agree that Reid takes care of his family.
They are lobbyists that pull in millions in fees for their lobbying firms each year.
Reid has done some good stuff.
He supported and voted for Nevada's Constitutional Ban on Gay Marriage. He voted for DOMA which allows Nevada to ignore gay marriages from other states.
He did not call for Bush's impeachment and even didn't hold hearings then or now on Bush.
He allowed Bush to seat excellent Conservative judges on the Federal courts especially the Sumpreme Court.
He has not done that much for Nevada. Nevada is on the bottom of getting money returned back to the state on a per capita basis. Even in the "stimulus" cash give aways, again Nevada is on the bottom on a per capita basis.
He does carry water for the lib koolaid crowd.
So I am not sure if it is really worth it if he has all the power and the ear of Obama if Nevada does not benefit any where near that level of power access.

Bernie Zadrowski, the Assistant DA and head of the Bad Checks unit, is also a Republican. He is also the former head of the Clark County Republican Party.
Who do you think Zadrowski is trying to protect? Reid?? Surely not; it's obvious he is trying to protect his former party chair Sue Lowden. Typical Lowden backstabbing politics... (remember the "lost ballots" for Ron Paul at the State Republican Convention?)
Lowden, Zadrowski, Ensign, Gibbons, ALL of these people are corrupt and morally bankrupt. The sooner the State of Nevada votes these stooges into the history books, the better!

Ashjian's situation is all too common place in the country. Prosecutors don't want the truth - they want to prosecute so they can get promoted or run for some public office someday. Ashjian's letter said it all and he makes for a very good case. Instead of going after people guilty of domestic violence and rape, these prosecutors go after people without checking the facts - and it sure looks politically motivated in this instance.
Also, people who work for the government think they can't themselves be brought to trial - that is generally incorrect. Ashjian should also look into personal lawsuits aginst these people if his claims are true.

Isn't a 'stop payment order' on your check different than writing a bad check that bounces?
Do 'stop payment orders' usually fall under the Bad Check Unit or was that a reach?
If it was a stop payment and it was legally justified then Ashcan should have gone to court and he would have won easily. The court would have thrown the case out of court.
Instead, he wrote another check plus court fees and bank fees and then the DA's office dropped the case.
Over 95% of the people supporting Ashcan are people who are strong followers of Reid.
That says a lot about a lot of things.
Here are the facts of the case as I have read about them.
1) Ashcan's wrote a check and sent it to a person
2) The person tried to cash the check but it returned as Insufficient Funds (and not as a stop payment)
3) The person challenged Ashcan on Dec 10th about the bounce check
4) On Dec 11th, Ashcan asked the bank to put a stop payment on the check
The DA and Ashcan have cross swords before he ran for office.
There was a case that dealt with check kiting. In that case, too, Ashcan made a deal to avoid the case going to trial.
No reasonable minded person will associate the tea party with this guy Scott Ashjian, not only that; Jon Ralston would do almost anything to discredit the Republican Party. Look at how limited Rolston's comment was. Seems to me this is nothing more than gossip... Jon Rolston should know that Americans can think for themselves, I can't speak for the tea party, but as a Citizen who supports the tea party movement; Who in the world is *Scott Ashjian? No one from the Tea Party seems to have ever heard of him, if no one ever heard of Scott Ashjian, then why could'n Mr. Rolston have made that assertion as well. How can Ashjian just claim representing a group who apparently never indorsed him,? That's kind of like Harry Reid saying that he is a senator for a city in Mexico" Oh right. He seems to be more concerned about the welfare of illegal immigrants then he is with citizens of this country. Jon Ralston is just another Harry Reid shill. He spews half truths and half facts, I think, just to hear himself talk. Ashjian is a Harry Reid diversion, he is NOT a Tea Party member. He is a Democrat...oops I mean Independent. How convenient. In my opinion, he's just another typical low-life dirtbag trying to skew election results, since Harry Reid is so worried because he knows he's O U T this time. I guess I'd probably worry too, if I knew I was headed home to Searchlight. I had a good laugh last weekend when Harry was at the opening of the new gun range/park. Especially since he's AGAINST anything that has to do with our Second Amendment right to carry arms. I'll be soooooo glad when Dirty Harry, Dina Titus, Shelly Berkley, Nancy Pelosi, Rory Reid and John Ashjian are gone for good and I never have to hear their names again!!
