If a slam dunk falls in LeBron’s face — and a Nike rep confiscates the film — did it really happen?

NOW

There's a story making the rounds on the Internet that claims some guy from Xavier threw down a two-hand slam right in LeBron James' mug during the latter's Skills Academy Monday night in The King's hometown of Akron.

Yup, LeBron got punked by one of the Musketeers. I think it was Cubby. (Actually, it was Jordan Crawford.)

Apparently, one of the skills they teach at his academy is damage control.

Immediately after its prize client was served a Spalding burger with all the trimmings, one of the big shots from Nike confiscated the evidence of said slam-a-roo from freelance cameraman Ryan Miller. According to CBSSports.com, the Nike rep also took a second tape from another camera guy. This apparently was done at James' request.

Somewhere on a ranch in Idaho, Bill Buckner is probably wishing he was wearing Nike baseball cleats during Game 6 of the 1986 World Series.

THEN

"I feel like Buckner walking into Shea." -- Matt Damon, as character Michael McDermott in the movie "Rounders," upon walking into a poker game at which he earlier had lost $30,000.
