Even in the face of family tragedy, Donny & Marie Osmond are doing their fair best to make up for shows that were lost as a result of the death of Marie's son Michael Blosil.
Having missed six shows after the suicide of Blosil, who leapt to his death Friday night from a downtown Los Angleles apartment building, Donny & Marie have committed to performing on previously open dates covering April 13-17. Tickets go on sale Thursday at the Flamingo box office. Donny & Marie return to the stage Tuesday night for the first time since the tragedy. Six shows, total, will have been postponed by the time they take the stage again.
The week of the new performances was intended to be half of a two-week vacation for Donny & Marie. However, according to the duo's Las Vegas manager, Chip Lightman, Donny & Marie sought to accommodate fans who already had purchased tickets to shows canceled last week. Lightman added that Marie Osmond — a performer since age 3 — was eager to return to the stage, finding the process "cathartic."
A private ceremony for Michael Blosil, who was just 18 at the time of his death, is scheduled for Monday in Utah.

Hello. Is this important? I can't understand the rush to get back this soon. Are they contributing these cancellation shows money to Marie's sons memory?
I think this is a considerate and professional act by Marie Osmond for her fans who purchased tickets. I hope this isn't too soon for her to return for work.
I agree with you JayCooke-
It's nice to see that even at such an awful time, they can still try to 'do right' by their fans.
I have no doubt that what their Manager says is true, about them finding some catharsis in performing...
They performed when their Father died, they've performed through most of their other challenges and tragedies...I'm sure they have no trouble performing now.
But I'll bet, after the final show each night...the silence is gonna hurt like HELL.
As they say, the show must go on. I must admit I too was a little surprised that the show was resuming so quickly.
The Osmond professionalism shines through yet again. If going back to work is something that will help Marie, then who are we to judge? Having been through depression, I know exactly why a week is enough-it's far better to work through it, then to just sit around and mull over the life of her son and what she could've done differently to prevent this...answer: nothing! It's probably the hardest thing Marie has had to do since the death of her parents, but working and audience accolades will certainly boost her spirits each day and in time and with love, she will be able to go on.
I agree with everyone who says its Marie's decision if she wants to return performing next week. I admire Marie and all the Osmonds, and have been a fan for years. I cant imagine getting on stage, singing and dancing after such a horrific tragedy. Good luck Marie, I wish you well!!
I totally agree with the above comments on a big show of Maries Integrity to get back up on stage so soon after something like that happened...
I had a similar experience in 1999 with one of my kids, approximately the same age; and I just kinda blacked out in my mind for 2-3 weeks afterwords- a loss of recall, etc., a couple week period in my life that when I think about it now, its something that I'll never forget.
Sometimes you have to dive into work to help you heal. I hope you heal soon Ms. Osmond. I am so sorry for your loss...
I don't agree with all the above statements. How can u focus on a show when you have a loss like this. There is no need to get back this soon. Take a month off and get your life together! The show will be there . Look what happened to Danny Gans.
What, are you kidding?!!! Marie Osmond clearly needs to tend to all those kids she adopted and had. The last thing the surviving kids need is for their mother to go back on stage so she can get back into the lime-light. The surviving kids are in need of a mother and father who are going to be there for them, helping them cope with the huge loss of thier brother, not making sure "her fans" get to see her dopey show. People, have you ever thought the reason this kid jumped out a 15 story window was because of his home-life or lack of it. "The show must go on!" Are you kidding me!!! Clearly Marie Osmond is too busy with her performing, her dolls, her jewerly and whatever else she is into to raise her kids. What is very telling is that her son went into court the week before he commited suicide and had his last name legally changed-WOW-what an inditment on the parents!!
Marie Osmond can do whatever she pleases. If getting back into her work is healing for her than so be it! I love her, always have and always will!! Go get 'em Marie!!
Nick...I would normally agree with you..But in this case I think that is not their motivation to perform,Let jusy leave them alone..Their is plenty of other Mo's to fill the void for the quest of $$$ n power...
Big Dan:
You are probably right. Evidently any post using the term "Mormoon" gets removed. I guess the staff here is part of the cult?
"... she did not show the same support of her son, who was questioning his sexuality. She pulled her son out of Las Vegas Academy so he wouldn't be surrounded by "those gays" that she felt were runing rampant in the halls of LVA.
Within the Mormon cult, there is no room for a homosexual son. Marie made her choices and now she has to deal with them.
Marie: how can you accept your daughter's lesbianism but not your son's homosexuality? Why the dicotomy?"
Interesting post. Marie is likely more supportive than the rest of that religion. They do not accept anyone different than them. Sad, but that religion does not spread love.
Hey Nick buddy...Quit trying to rationalize the LDS church it's not a religion it's a cult. With this being said let just let Marie be
You guys are idiots, Marie is mourning the loss of her son right now. What if she were to read these posts you guys are spinning up here, have a little compassion and respect for her. She's a good lady, and represents all that is beautiful in this dark cold world we live in right now, so why not cut out the religion critique and send her some love.
RIP Michael, and May God be with your family to help them heal.

The death of a son or daughter is the absolute worse thing that can happen and its everyone's worse nightmares realized. The emotion pain and saddness is overwhelming and what ever a person can do to get some relief from that pain is helpful. Not only will the work help her pain but the physical exhaustion of the show will help her sleep, which believe me is almost impossible after this for years. People got all kinds of advice when its not their kid. Peace and Serenity to the Osmond family and RIP Michael.
I feel bad about the death of her son no doubt, but nobodys lookin at this angle. Why are 2 Mormons doin shows in Vegas where " all kinds of sin is occuring" ? What hypocrates are they? Vegas is all about gambling , drinking , smoking , naked girls ,etc,,,, and in the middle of the strip you have a Momo duo perfoming and making money off everything that Thier religion is against. Are ya buying or selling I guess .
Ok Sun you go ahead and remove my comment beacause pertains to mormons and that says it all. No wonder your paper has reduced to nothing but a leaflet in the R.J.
I don't see where any of you have the right to say what Marie needs or doesn't need, reading some of the above comments really disgusts me.
