The Bullrun Live Rally, where speeding is frowned upon.

They started in New York on Saturday on a cross-country rally, their final destination kept tightly secret. But the drivers roaring across the U.S. in all variety of exotic cars in the event known as Bullrun Live Rally are headed to Las Vegas.

The Fremont Street Experience, specifically.

The weeklong rally started Saturday when Kim Kardashian dropped the checkered flag at Pier 54 in Manhattan. Since, the participants (who paid a $20,000 entry fee apiece) have shot across the country, making overnight stops in Cleveland; Chicago; Omaha, Neb.; Boulder and Telluride, Colo; and Thursday night in Scottsdale, Ariz.

The specific route is not known until the morning of the that day's trip, with clues provided to the drivers to set their path. At the moment, the 100 participants — including rapper Ice-T and his wife, Nicole "Coco" Austin — are making their way to the 3rd Street Stage on Fremont Street. Also, Fremont Street President Jeff Victor will be driving the car numbered "702," matching our area code. The road warriors should be in town by 8 p.m. or so. Unless they speed, which is officially frowned upon according to Bullrun bylaws.

Awaiting them will be quite a party. Upon finishing, a show by the Cuban Brothers (Virgin billionaire Richard Branson's favorite party band) will launch a free concert at the Fremont Street Experience. Organizers are expecting NBA players in town playing Summer League games at the Thomas & Mack Center and Cox Pavilion to join the fray. A reality show, of course, is being filmed, too. It all makes for a hot time in the big town tonight.

Update: Spoke too soon about these drivers obeying the law. A CBS News report out of Colorado says five Bullrun drivers were ticketed while jetting through that state this week, and a sixth has been arrested. Read the account here
