WomensCare Center offers something for everyone

Chances are you saw the latest issue of "WomensCare" magazine pop out of your mailbox earlier this month. Before you just toss it, thinking it's just another batch of advertisements, sit down and take a look. You're bound to find something interesting awaiting you.

The Barbara Greenspun WomensCare Center of Excellence, through St. Rose Dominican Hospitals, has so much to offer the residents of Henderson. The magazine is delivered to your mailbox quarterly, and offers articles on health, tips and ideas, and a schedule of classes and events available through the Center and other St. Rose locations throughout the valley.

From AA to yoga, there really is a variety for everyone, not just women.

The childbirth classes and resources for new mothers are a major part of the center. Located at 100 N. Green Valley Parkway, Suite 330, the WomensCare Center features a fully stocked "store" with maternity and nursing equipment, as well as pillows and bras.

"The store had so many things available to buy and rent, I wish 28 years ago this had existed for me," commented Lisa Wilkins.

"My daughter asked my husband and me to attend the Grandparents' Refresher course after she had our first grandchild. The class was great and the staff was exceptionally nice," she said.

Many of the classes are free, while some require a minimal fee. You can even get certified in CPR and first aid. If you did accidentally toss your copy, no worries; go to the website at www.strosehospitals.org for a complete electronic version of the magazine, and an opportunity to sign up for some classes. Do it for your health!
