Yes, Reggie Bullock is this good.
The former Las Vegas High tailback has rushed for a combined 363 yards and six touchdowns during his initial two college games with Arizona Western College, a junior college in Yuma, Ariz.
Bullock’s breakout performance came on Sept. 5 when he rushed for 202 yards and two touchdowns in a 35-17 victory at Snow College of Ephraim, Utah. Bullock’s 96-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter put the finishing touches on Snow College’s first loss at home in 25 games, a streak that started in 2004 for the nation’s No. 4 ranked team.
Bullock was just getting started.
He rushed for 161 yards and four touchdowns on Sept. 12 in a 51-21 victory against Phoenix Junior College.
It’s a shame Bullock, who rushed for 1,701 yards and 22 touchdowns last fall for Las Vegas, has had such a hard time qualifying academically for a Division I school.
Here’s hoping he will eventually get the chance to shine on a bigger stage.
It takes virtually no effort to pass with a C average in the CCSD. Don't blame it on the school system. Blame it on the lack of effort by a God-gifted athlete. Why are we focusing n this anyway? He was a good back, but we're treating it like it's a travesty. He doesn't have the size to have been an effective force right out of high school at any D1 program anyway. If anything JuCo is a good thing for him. We'll see if he makes it to a D1 university in the next couple yrs. And then we'll see if he can keep his grades up if/when he gets there.
Cant blame school district I graduated from it and went on to graduate from college. This article shows the importance of being a student first, athlete second. Hope he gets his grades in order or it will be two years JC than back to Vegas
Yes, it's a shame he is not playing Division 1, but some times you have to go another direction to get to where you are heading. Junior College is good for him now, it's teaching him lesson, giving him the opportunity to grow in what he does best and sportsmanship. Don't be surprise if you look up next year and you see him at UNLV, Florida or another Division 1 college. I don't care which Division 1 school he goes to as long as he plays for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Way to go Reggie - keep up what you do!! We are all pulling for you.
Everyone is pulling for Reggie. He's a nice kid with good intentions. I enjoyed covering him.
