Two of the top high school prospects in Las Vegas faced off Tuesday at Cheyenne High School. Elijah Johnson (15) and the Cheyenne Desert Shields take on Anthony Marshall (23) and the Mojave Rattlers. Johnson shoots a jump shot over Marshall.

Cheyenne senior guard Elijah Johnson, ranked by Rivals.com as the nation's No. 27 prospect in the 2009 class, was cleared to play for the rest of the season by his doctor on Wednesday afternoon.

Johnson was limited to only 3 minutes of action in the second half of Tuesday's 67-53 Desert Shields home victory over rival Mojave.

After missing a handful of games due to a slight ligament tear in his left knee earlier this season, the Kansas signee was cleared to return a couple of weeks back. On Monday, he banged into a wall during practice, and on Tuesday night wasn't able to do much, scoring 4 points on 2-of-7 shooting.

He went back to see his doctor on Wednesday.

"Doctor told me that I'm good to go for the rest of this season," said Johnson, who was visibly worried while sitting on the bench and exiting Cheyenne High following Tuesday's game. "It's feeling good. I'm good. Everything's good.

"That made me feel better. I'm more relaxed."

Cheyenne, who at 16-2 is the top NIAA team in Las Vegas -- and arguably in the state -- hosts Centennial on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
