Faith Lutheran captures American Legion crown

Faith Lutheran strung together two victories Sunday to claim the American Legion Central States Division II Tournament championship held in Milbank, S.D.

Third baseman Devin Chaves notched five RBIs, including a homer run and a single, to lift the Crusaders past a La Moure, N.D., squad 13-3 for the title.

Earlier Sunday, Faith Lutheran dropped Ripon, Wisc., 8-5 to advance to the championship.

The Crusaders close out their season with a 23-6 record.
