Former Rebel Amundson pulls a fast one on Shaq; Now Shaq’s response …

Shaq responds to Amundson's prank

Shaquille O'Neal followed through -- sort of -- on his threat to retaliate against former Rebel and current Phoenix Suns teammate Louis Amundson for his mammoth prank earlier in the week.

First, Amundson shot back at a year's worth of jokes from Shaq by filling the big man's conversion van with packing peanuts.

A day later, Amundson was trailed on camera entering the US Airways Center, expecting the worst.

Shaq originally threatened to chop off the forward's stylish blonde ponytail while teammates held him down.

The teammates came through, as a gaggle of them pinned him down following a morning workout, but Shaq apparently couldn't bring himself to do the deed completely. Instead of making the major chop, he only cut off a small chunk of Amundson's 'do.

Wish he would have sliced the whole thing. But at least Shaq was able to give credit where credit was due, in the end.

Louis Amundson pranks Shaq

This is one war that former Rebel forward Louis Amundson, well, more than likely won't win.

But at least he can claim a small victory before his season with the Phoenix Suns came to an end.

Amundson, who lettered as a Rebel from 2001-06, pulled a prank on teammate Shaquille O'Neal which has made a few loops around the blogosphere in just a short period of time.

O'Neal, known around the NBA as one of the league's top pranksters, made a habit this season of picking on Amundson in particular.

Amundson, who rides his bicycle to practice, would typically either not be able to find his bike after practice, or just find its frame without wheels or chains.

In an attempt to take a shot back at the sure-fire Hall of Famer before Phoenix's season wrapped up, Amundson plotted to fill O'Neal's conversion van -- yes, the man who has made more than $250 million in his NBA career drives a decked-out conversion van -- with packing peanuts.

The aftermath was caught with a nearly 10-minute video that's become an instant YouTube sensation.

We can only hope, though, that Shaq's retaliation is also caught on film.

During the early portion of the clip, O'Neal throws his arms around Phoenix teammates Jared Dudley and Alando Tucker, advising them that they'd have no choice but to help him get payback.

Their jobs? To hold the 6-foot-9, 238-pound Amundson down while Shaq busted out a pair of scissors and sliced off the youngster's stylish blonde ponytail.

Well, at least the Suns are able to keep good spirits after fading from the playoff radar.

Amundson averaged 4.2 points and 3.6 rebounds in his first full NBA season.
