Summers makes Steelers’ regular season roster

Steelers Roll Out the Tank

The Pittsburgh Steelers drafted Frank Summers in the fifth round of the April draft with the 169th overall pick. With his first NFL training camp under his belt, the Tank talks about his new profession and position with the Super Bowl Champs.

Frank Summers can rest a little easier now, knowing that he'll begin his professional football career officially on Thursday night when the Pittsburgh Steelers face the Tennessee Titans on national television.

The former Rebels running back and fifth-round selection of the defending Super Bowl champs was left off the chopping block as their roster was cut to 53 to start the weekend.

Among those cut were veteran fullback Carey Davis and rookie free agent Isaac Redman, who led the Steelers with 145 rushing yards in the preseason.
