A California State Athletic Commission representative confirmed Josh Barnett, the scheduled headliner to fight Fedor Emelianenko at "Affliction: Trilogy", secondary "B" sample drug test also resulted in a positive showing for a metabolite of the anabolic steroid Drostanolone.
Barnett's manager, Shannon Hooper, said last week his fighter will appeal the findings.
"Mr. Barnett vehemently denies intentionally ingesting any banned substances in preparation for the Aug. 1 fight," Hooper stated. "He is looking forward to presenting his case to the California State Athletic Commission.
