UFC President Dana White announced that the organization is planning a show for Boston (if legislation passes) in November, and then will try to head north of the border again — this time to Toronto. Then White said he's setting his sights on the big prize of New York City.
"I'm pretty confident we're going to do an event in Boston, Mass., at the Boston Garden in November," White said today at a press conference promoting Saturday's UFC 97 event in Montreal.
"The first of the year, (we want to do a show in) New York, and I'm hoping we have Toronto done before New York."
While White said he seemed very confident about Boston legalizing mixed martial arts, New York City may be a tougher sell as a few vocal critics are providing significant challenges to the legislation process.
