Ricin officer tested for trace amounts in blood

According to authorities Thursday, a police officer who arrived on the scene of the Extended Stay America motel room where ricin was later discovered was found to have small amounts of a substance that can be linked to ricin in his blood. Officials said that the officer hasn't shown any symptoms of illness that would indicate ricin poisoning. KTNV Channel 13 news identified the officer as Jim Mitchell, but police refused to confirm.
