Mayweather Jr. considers firing uncle

(via ESPN) · March 20, 2008 · 7:55 PM

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is considering firing his uncle, Roger Mayweather, who is also his trainer.

"Lately, I've been upset with my uncle, Roger Mayweather," Mayweather Jr. said. "My uncle Roger has been training Steve Forbes and if Steve Forbes beats Oscar, it's taking money out of my pocket."

Mayweather Jr. is talking about the $20 million or more he would get for the rematch against Oscar De La Hoya, which is slotted for Sept. 20.

He said if his uncle continues to train Forbes he will have to get another trainer and may even try to get his father, who trains De La Hoya, back on his side.

  1. Ah so I see enormous sums of money really does solve all problems. Or buy happiness. Or at least a father?
