WASHINGTON -- It won’t be votes in the Senate that keep Republican presidential candidate John McCain away from Friday night’s debate.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said today he would not be scheduling any votes to “make sure there’s no excuses to not go forward with the debate.”
“If ever there was a time in the history of our country … American people need to hear this.”
Republican National Committee spokesman Bill Riggs said: “It’s clear that Harry Reid and Barack Obama would rather score cheap political points with Washington parlor games than do the business of the American people and find bipartisan solutions.”
The Obama expert on Forgein policy, Joe "Gaffe Machine" Biden said today: ""After seven years... the Bush administration realized the absurdity of its own policy and sent our leading diplomat to Iran. The assistant secretary of state as he went to Tehran, sat down at the instruction of the president of the United States."
1. It was not the assistant secretary of state but the undersectary.
2. It was in Switzerland not in Iran.
At least he did not say that on the stock market crash in 1929 that FDR got on the TV to talk to the American people....opps he did say that.
yeah that one about Obama trying to take one of his shotguns, and he would use his Baretta to get Obama was pretty funny too.

If the University and the media must fill their debate slot, bring in some surrogates. If Obama wants to debate now (after refusing debates for months), let Palin or someone else meet him. Cynthia McKinney of the Green party has volunteered. :-)
If this crisis isn't worth rescheduling a campaign debate -- then it's not worth spending taxpayer money on! Maybe the vote should be postponed, not for the silly debate schedule, but to give people time to think over this bailout. HIllary seems to have a good plan: "Let's keep people in their homes", see her op-ed in Wall Street Journal.

Of course, after Obama has missed ten joint town hall meetings, that this one debate is more important then a Pearl Harbor event in the economy. Then we are in trouble.
Apparently Obama is just mad because he cannot spend his three day of learning and practicing foreign affairs.
For Reid to call McCain a chicken to debate, is just an extension of current left blogs.
obama hasn't missed any town hall meetings,thats mccain campaign right wing comments,they are not joint town hall meetings.and palin can't debate this week she's busy looking at russia from her kitchen and she's trying to find the meaning of the bush doctrine on the internet.grumpy old keating 5 john and his pill poppin wife will only see the white house in 09 if barrack and michelle have them over for dinner,which will never happen.mccain is the only sitting senator who has been censored by congress,great guy huh.
Nancy Pelosi says McCain's presence is not needed for the Stock Market bailout talks. I'm sure she'd prefer that he were not there to oppose those rascals!

Even former President Bill Clinton says that John McCain cannot be faulted for going to work instead of the debate, because he's not shying away from the debate (Clinton says McCain has been requesting MORE debates with Obama all along) because he's attending to the more important business at hand.
On the other hand, Obama is taking time off to practice up for debates,,saying he can do more than one thing at a time?!?!?!

Pelosi and Reid and the Dems refused to acknowledge that the Energy Bill and gas prices were a crisis for the American public, while they went on vacation for weeks and left citizens to struggle to pay for gas and groceries.
I, for one, am not nearly as interested in hearing about foreign policy with financial experts stating that it won't take much stalling for the Stock Market to plummet.
And, by the way,,,I AM NOT IN THE LEAST INTERESTED IN BAILING OUT FOREIGN-BASED BANKS WITH U.S. INTERESTS WITH ANY PART OF THAT $700 MILLION!!!!
Obama said, "Call me if you need me." He's a poser, not someone who has a record of working with his own party and the other party to work out a deal. He's out for himself and only himself, and his record shows that. Don't listen to the magic spell of his oratory. Look at his record in Chicago, his voting record in Illinois and in the U.S. Senate. Look at his scorched-earth policy toward Hillary Clinton, who has been humiliated and brought to heel.
I'm voting for McCain/Palin. No more humiliation by Big Media and sexist Leftists (one and the same) for me. I am no longer a Democrat; I am an Independent and a PUMA.

harry Reid has taken his instructions from Pelosi as usual and turned this entire thing into politics as ususal. Slipped into this plan is money for ACORN. This group has misused millions in the past and is nothing more than a criminal group with their voter registration drives across this country indicted for fraud and corruption in dozens of locations. This is solving our financial crisis? Earmarking money for a criminal group. Throw harry out, tell him how you feel.
