Ensign-led GOP committee releases Halloween video

WASHINGTON -- The Republican Senate campaign committee, headed by Sen. John Ensign of Nevada, posted a Web-only Halloween ad this afternoon that takes a campy shot at the prospect of a 60-seat Senate.

You can watch it here.

Be sure to look for the dark image of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid at the outset. Is that within the spirit of the non-aggression pact between the two Nevada senators?

  1. Obama and McCain made a pact to stick with public financing for the campaigns, too.

McCain kept his word. Obama broke his word and out-financed McCain 6-1 (taking money from donors who cannot be identified, many of whom are abroad.)

Shall we talk about honoring the "spirit of a pact??"

  2. JanK "Shall we talk about honoring the "spirit of a pact??""

Nah. Let's talk about that 6-1 part. Amazing huh?
You have no honor and you're not even a good loser. You know well and good and McCain would have done the same thing with such a groundswell.

Grow a pair would ya? You lost the money battle. Deal with it.

  3. The rules are made to make elections fair and even and keep special interests from owning the politicians. This has been a cry from the democrats for decades. McCain is one of the few Republicans that agreed with them. Obama loved the plan until he found a way to USE IT for his PERSONAL advantage. Rules are for normal people. Obama is the ONE. LOL. what a joke, chicage style politics where cheating is a way of life.

  4. What's that you say neiman? Obama changed his mind? What a jerk! I can see why you hate him so much.

People should never change their minds. Especially when it might be advantageous to do so! That just looks bad. I mean, who in their RIGHT mind would ever consider doing such a horrendous thing as reconsidering a decision. Right, Mr. Bush?

Other helpful Bush hints. Never capitulate, never admit mistakes, take credit for the good, blame others for the bad, take lots of time off, read to children during a time of crisis, ignore impending disasters, help people when it looks bad not to, ignore the constitution or revise it's meaning whenever desired, cater to the rich, ignore everyone else, pretend to be religious and act like you're smarter than everyone else, condone and promote torture, ignore the Geneva convention (too limiting), ignore the Kyoto protocol (too inconvenient), act unilaterally to control the world as you see fit, lie if you have to (or whenever it suits your wants and desires), and last but not least, give great jobs to your completely unqualified friends, subvert the power of other government branches and create entirely new branches and departments to fix the problems you create.

    Did I miss anything, neiman?

  5. Two years and counting....then we can get rid of Count Ensign....ha ha ha!

  6. The clear choice in this election is Sen. Obama. A vote for Sen. McCain is a vote against the commandments "You shall not lie", "You shall not kill", and "You shall not commit adultery."

We were deceived into the Iraq war. There were no weapons of mass destruction, no nuclear bombs, no Iraq-9/11 link. So far the Iraq war killed 4,000+ of our brave young men, 100,000+ Iraq people, injured hundred of thousands more, forced 4+ million Iraqis to flee their homes. Yet, Sen. McCain wants to continue this deceptive and wrongful war. Sen. McCain committed adultery while still married to his 1st wife. He divorced his 1st wife to marry the current one. That is his personal choice. However, every day when I pray, I know deep in my heart I can not vote for Sen. McCain. My clear choice is Sen. Obama.

  7. And we've had a Democratic Congress for the last two years. Interesting isn't it how the economy collapsed under their auspices?
Do we really want to give Pelosi, Reid, Frank, and Dodd(major contributors to the current crisis through their resistance and failure to reform Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac) unchecked power?
