GOP pulls Senate TV ads in Louisiana

WASHINGTON— Can John Ensign’s Republican Senate election committee catch a break?

The committee has pulled its TV ads out of Louisiana, reports the Washington Post’s Chris Cillizza, the one state where Republicans hope to take over a vulnerable Democratic incumbent this fall.

At the same time, the Democratic Senatorial committee is running its first TV ad today in Georgia, a state not initially in Democrats’ sights, but where polls now show the race between Republican Sen. Saxby Chambliss and challenger Jim Martin is tied.

With Republican fundraising being outpaced by Democrats, perhaps the Republican National Committee, as noted yesterday, is coming to the rescue?
