I asked Sen. Majority Leader Harry Reid, after he caucused in Searchlight, what was in store next for Nevada. An early caucus in 2012 caucus?
“We’ll have wait and see. There’s a big push to change the process so that we would have regional primaries. I’ll take a look at that. The only committee I’m still on is the Rules Committee. We’ll take a close look at it and see if we’ll do it again.
"If we have regional primaries then we won’t. But if we have the same process we will because it’s been a success for Nevada.”
How did he think Nevada has been portrayed in the weeks leading up to the caucus?
“Very favorably. We’ve had two debates on national television. I think it summed it up the other night at the debate each of the three were trying to out anti Yucca Mountain each other. That’s great.”

I think the best thing for Nevada to do is go to a voting primary system.
This caucus was interesting, but it left out many who would probably have gone to vote in a regular primary, where the polls are open 7am to 7pm.
The caucus leaves out too many potential voters, and who knows how many might now be (or feel) alienated by the process and might not vote come November?!?!
How do I get on the rules committee? Working people today, all over the state didn't get to caucus. Mr. Reid says he supports mining but he didn't support precinct sites at mines. Why?
