Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said he celebrated his birthday Tuesday by dialing up a certain pop star also born on Dec. 2.
“One of my first calls this morning was to call Britney Spears, wish her a happy birthday,” said Reid, who turned 69 on Tuesday, during opening remarks at a policy forum in Washington.
“She wasn’t available. It was too early – has to take care of the kids, I guess.”
Seriously? Nah. He didn’t really do that. But it made for a good story -- an was certainly one way to launch a policy discussion.
