Reid out with new ad attacking Angle on veterans’ issues

In his unending effort to erode individual constituencies from his opponent’s base of support, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid today launched a new ad attacking Republican Sharron Angle on veterans’ issues.

The ad, following Reid’s central theme, uses Angle’s own words against her. Reid draws from an interview on KNPR in which she discussed privatizing the Veteran’s Administration. She was asked, according to the ad, whether doctor’s visits and prescriptions would be covered.

“No,” she answered. “Not if you’re working toward a privatized system.”

In what may seem a scatter-shot approach, Reid has been using his sizeable campaign warchest to fund ads on a variety of individual issues, attacking Angle on Social Security, nuclear waste, domestic violence and the Gulf Oil Spill.

Each attack speaks to a different constituency and carries the same theme: Angle is too extreme.

  1. Karl Rove could take lessons from Harry when it comes to slime and fear tactics.
