President Barack Obama will help Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid deliver his closing argument in this year’s campaign with a major rally in Las Vegas less than two weeks before Election Day.
The Democratic National Committee today announced a series of organizing rallies headlined by Obama in key states in the final weeks of the campaign.
The series will be Obama’s push to shore up waning Democratic support in the mid-term elections and could be key for both Reid and U.S. Rep. Dina Titus, who is facing a difficult challenge from Republican Joe Heck.
Obama’s organizing rally is scheduled for Oct. 22 in Las Vegas. It likely won’t be the only stop the president makes in Nevada before Nov. 2.

Yes, I think that Obama definitely has his downfalls. EVERY PERSON has downfalls including the President of the United States. However, please remember that Bush put us ALL in this situation over a term of 8 years ... Things are NOT going to change over night -- nor are they going to change in 2 years.
As for the conditions in Nevada --- I don't blame Obama --- I don't blame Harry Reid. I blame a plethora of UNEDUCATED individuals who have been here for YEARS. This CITY in particular is based on the tourism and casino industry. Start blaming the casinos - for hiring people for YEARS with no college degrees .... basically showing generations of Nevadans that education is not important when you can go make $50,000-$100,000 a year as a cocktail waitress. And don't educated those in said positions to save and invest their money instead of blowing it on alcohol after work, on houses they CAN'T afford, etc.
Any bright and educated individual would have known 3 or 4 or 5 years ago that if they made $45,000.00 a year and had 0% to 5% downpayment that they couldn't really afford a $400,000.00 house. Don't blame Harry Reid for our foreclosures .. blame uneducated people who got caught up --- thinking they needed to buy buy buy when they couldn't afford it.
People in this town can't even pay for adequate child care -- I'm appalled at people who tell me that they pay $2 an hour. $2 an hour for someone to watch your beloved child.
This town is appalling, uneducated and ignorant and I am part of the mass exodus.
I think its time for a new majority party in this country.

Well, I've only been around for 6 presidents and have only been paying taxes since Clinton. And to answer your question, no, I wasn't nearly as upset in the past because I have never despised anyone as much as I do Harry. That politician has negatively affected me more than any other I can think of.

Robert Gibbs just said in the newspaper yesterday that Obama was going to stay in Washington and not be on the campaign trail. The press secretary and the President need to talk to each other once in awhile! The President should not be stumping for the candidates, he should be working on the issues on hand! Oh and by the way, why are the Democrats NOT campaigning on their history making health care reform bill??? Makes one wonder....

I would seem to me that unless he is paying out of pocket for these and taking vacation time to appear (which we all know is not the case) that he is in a round about sort of way siphoning tax dollars toward a campaign for a particular candidate...
I guess I would like to know the explanation for that.... Because it just does not seem fiscally responsible...

That's my point. Our Great Country was created by our founding-father governed by a body of LAWS, and most of them were Lawyers. Just think about, everything we do, is governed by the law. Driving, buying a home, insurance, product defect, homeowners insurance, public & private nuisance, trespass. Well you get it, the list goes on.
That is why, lawyers Understand the LAWS better than non-lawyers. That is why most of our President have been lawyers. The complete understand it, and how it works. (Book-smart).
If you doubt it, please go to www.gov.com and retrieve archives of ALL of our President and you will see that the majority of them, including our founding-fathers were lawyers.

I don't think Obama created the mess we are in himself, he definitely is culpable having been a senator in the 2007-2008 session where the D's controlled the money. Before him the R's were culpable in Congress from 2002-2006, and before them the D's in '98 - 2002. It's congress which passes laws, spends money, funds programs not the president. It IS the president who acts as a check against congress and pushes legislation to congress. Obama hasn't helped with his ideological entitlements which are failed policies. The truth lies in the middle of both sets of emotional sets of folks on here, but lets face it, congress has the money and creates the programs that directly lead this country into prosperity or poverty, and from 2007-today we have consistently gone the poverty route. If Reid's leadership didn't create the mess he sure has made it worse and isn't making it better. Coupled with Obama and Pelosi, Reid's leadership has made this country worse and worse. By the way the majority of the richest politicians are D's, so think to yourself who's side are they really on and quit believing they support poor and middle class people, they simply want to control you. The best thing government can do is get out of your way and make things easier. Increasing the IRS and the size of government as they've done in the last two years is all I need to know which way my vote is going. On top of this Reid and Obama's administration has proven to be unethical and immoral. At least with Angle she has proven to be the opposite. Her fiscal conservative values are what we need and if she turns into Reid I will vote against her in the future. Reid simply must be held accountable for his actions, and he isn't giving anyone a chance to as he's hiding and simply running formatted interviews and commercials. He smart not to hold town hall meetings, us smelly common folks would eat him alive.

At no point in my comment did I blame Obama for creating this mess...This mess was created by years of financial deregulation that even dates Bush (keep in mind I did not vote for him, I thought he was kind of a joke as well)...
I actually thought Obama had a shot to turn the wave of good energy that came with his election into something good... But really he has just got right in line with with presidents that were jokes in their time (status quo if you will)... You sited a few of these past jokes we had in office... Matter of fact with the exception of Reagan and Kennedy ever single one on that list was no better then the next... And I think Obama has taken his place with that group because of things like spending tax dollars to campaign for special interest at a time when the country needs to get something of real value for its money... Not just another 4 years of more of the same (Angle and Reid fit this mold)... An he is proving to be just another politician that told you all what you wanted to hear to get elected...

Currently we have roads throughout the country in major disrepair, we have needs for real computer infrastructure upgrades, we have needs for cheap energy... The list goes on and on... All of which there is a huge workforce ready to take on these tasks, but all we keep hearing in unemployment is up, again...
So yes I take issue with a president spending money the country does not have a lot of right now for, frivolous behavior...Especially while lecturing American on how financially irresponsible they are... You lead by example not by sound bites...

Go home around 2:00pm. Airport again is shut down.

If you will work for $14/per hour. Then you have NEVER made any Real MONEY. I have been out of a job since June. I have never earned anything less than $20/per hour. What can you qualify for on $14 per hour? What kind of home or car loan? How can you save for retirement or plan your kids college on those pennies?

President Obama and Senator Reid did not cause this mess. The banks did and Bush's 2 unpaid wars (remember, Obama said no to Iraq and was right) and Bush's unpaid tax cuts mostly to the rich. Now the rich need to come back and give and they cry foul. Our President told us that coming out of this mess would not be easy. He told us to recover would be slow going. I don't think they expected it to be this bad but it is. He told us that people would critize him for the direction he would go. And many are but many aren't. There has been a slow recovery for the past 8 months in the privite sector. We need more time as he said we would need. He never lied to us like Bush has. His expectations were off some but never lied. Nevadans its time to stop being afraid. We will make it. Patience is hard and believe me I know.

I believe Bush's dad called the school and ask that he be given a MBA for all the money their family had contributed over the years, since Bush, Jr., was FAILING in his academics.

He has had 8 straight months of hiring growth from the privite sector. He has given us a new health care plan which I believe will work when kicked in on 2014. President Obama is coming here to help Senator Reid in his campaign for U.S. Senate.
Who from the Republican Party is coming here to help Sharron Angle in her bid? NO ONE. The only ones working for her from Washington are people who choose to remain behind the scenes...and only with stupid campaign ads that slam Senator Reid...but give no one an idea who this Tea Party idiot is.
Why don't they help her? Because they gave her up for a lost cause. All the Republicans want to do is stand back, close their eyes, cross their fingers and toes and hope against any and all hope that she wins. And the only way this will happen is on the off chance that all of the Nevada voters end up checking into hospitals and receiving frontal lobotomies.
I'm sticking by President Obama and his administration. Because he shows he has plans that are clearly showing progress to get us out of the economic devastation. They are baby steps, but they are headed in the right direction. To change now would be a disaster of astronomic proportions. It would only be part 2 of policies set forth by the incompetent administration of Bush the lesser; a continuation of another 8 years of a steep downward slide.
