Number 5 is alive! Holding strong in the fifth spot for the second year in a row, Vegas DJ Scotty Boy has garnered the same ranking again in this year’s America’s Best DJ contest, with famed turntabilist Z-Trip earning top honors for 2009.

Unlike last year’s ceremony, which didn’t even make a blip on the nightlife radar when held at the Rouge Bar at MGM, DJ Times and Pioneer Pro DJ are going all out and partnering up with Rain on Saturday for the competition’s closing party. Our sources say that Paul Oakenfold himself will present the gold-plated mixer to Z-Trip. Also being honored in the top five are Steve Porter, Qbert and Kaskade at numbers 2, 3 and 4 respectively.

During Perfecto, attendees are in for a special treat as Z-Trip is slated to spin from midnight to 2 a.m. Scotty Boy will take the decks at the pre-party inside Ghostbar and rumor has it an afterparty might take place at Drai’s with Steve Porter on the decks. Just when you thought you had recovered from Labor Day Weekend.
