A 23-year-old North Carolina man suffered critical injuries Sunday night when he was struck by a car on Tropicana Avenue east of the Las Vegas Strip, according to Metro Police.
Brian Salisbury, Holly Ridge, N.C., was transported to University Medical Center following the accident, which occurred about 8:57 p.m. on Tropicana east of South Koval Lane, police said.
Salisbury was crossing Tropicana from the south curb to the north and ran across the travel lanes into the path of a 2002 Honda Accord, police said.
Police said Salisbury was not in a marked crosswalk and was about 180 feet east of Koval.
The driver of the car, Kenneth Renter, 73, Lake Havasu, Ariz., had minor injuries, police said.
Officers said the collision remains under investigation.
