Tom Roberts, who handles public relations for Kurt Busch and Miller Brewing, came up with the following statistics comparing Busch and younger brother Kyle at the same point in their careers.
Kurt Busch completed his 125th Cup race on May 15, 2004 at Richmond International Raceway while Kyle Busch ran his 125th Cup race this past Saturday night at Darlington Raceway.
Here is a breakdown of how the Busch brothers fared through the first 125 races of their careers:
Kurt Busch:
9 wins
25 top 5s
45 top 10s
20 DNFs
2 poles
Kyle Busch:
7 wins
37 top 5s
59 top 10s
16 DNFs
3 poles
It also should be noted that Kurt Busch won the series championship in 2004 – his fourth full Cup season. This is Kyle Busch’s fourth full season in the series.
Will Kyle follow in his brother’s footsteps and win the championship this season?

Thanks for the stats Brian, they are interesting to say the least.
Kurt had more wins, mostly in a Ford, not a crappy Evernham Dodge that he drives today. But the Shrub is looking pretty good in the top 5 and top 10 part of his career right now. Not to mention his stats in the other two series, where he also excels.
My money is on Kyle to win the championship this year, wanna bet?
I'm the world's worst gambler, fancan, but if I were a betting man I'd put my money on Kyle to win it all this year. He's definitely on a mission to prove that Rick Hendrick made a mistake in letting him go.
I think I've heard Mike say the same thing, about gambling that is. I guess if one makes ones living in Vegas it would be a very good thing to NOT be a gambler!
Will Kyle Busch win the championship in 08? Absolutely! That kid is on a roll!! Can you believe it.. two Vegas boys from Durango High winning championships in NASCAR?
