Mount Charleston Fire - July 8
Mon, Jul 8, 2013 (7:38 p.m.)
Plumes of smoke returned Tuesday afternoon over Mount Charleston, a sign the wildfire has returned to a full blaze after smoldering overnight. It expanded its path to nearly 20,000 acres – more than 30 square miles. Put another way, the 30 square miles the fire has consumed is the equivalent of an area that would engulf all of downtown Las Vegas and the majority of the Las Vegas Strip.
