Letter to the Editor:

We all play roles in saving Earth

Most people agree that climate change is real and it’s causing extreme damaging weather events, mainly due to humanity’s dependence on fossil fuels.

Many people want to do something to help but don’t know what or how. They can offset the worsening crisis. They want action they can take themselves.

Leave it to Citizens’ Climate Lobby, the Sierra Club, SolUp, the Nevada Clean Energy Fund and other organizations to offer the information concerned people crave. Just in time for Earth Day, there will be a free Clean Energy Fair for all things clean-powered April 21, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at SolUp, 4305 Dean Martin Drive.

This inaugural event aims to bring attendees together to learn about clean energy and sustainability, connect with resources, and take meaningful action.

Attendees can listen to a panel discussion by some of our elected leaders, see live demonstrations of solar-powered appliances, equipment and more. Workshops include solar education, funds and resources, and job fair and volunteer opportunities.

The fair is full of information people need to make wise choices that will help reduce our dependence on climate-damaging fossil fuels and increase their homes’ energy efficiency, safety and comfort. It’s free, and all are welcome.
