The Pahrump Valley football team went into tonight’s game at Valley with no pressure — win or lose, the Trojans had already won their division and secured a first-round playoff bye.
But Pahrump didn’t want to risk losing momentum from a three-game winning streak, sending a message to the rest of the class 3A in rushing for 370 yards in a 44-6 win over Valley.
“It was really important to keep the (good play) going into that bye week,” Pahrump coach Joe Clayton said.
Chase Otteson and Henry Amaya each rushed for two scores for the Trojans, while Brennen Benedict and Gunner Cortez each also scored.
Pahrump on Nov. 5 will host the winner of next week’s playoff game between Eldorado at Virgin Valley.
