Site of accident
A Toyota Avalon struck a woman as she was crossing Blue Diamond Road in a crosswalk around 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Loy Hixson said.
Hixson said the full-size sedan was believed to be going the speed limit, around 45 mph, and traveling east past Dean Martin Drive when it hit the 37-year-old woman.
She was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition. The driver was uninjured.
