1 killed, 2 critically injured in single-car rollover crash

A rollover accident Monday morning on an interchange at Interstate 15 and the Las Vegas Beltway ejected three people, killing one, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

Trooper Loy Hixson said the accident happened at 6:07 a.m. on the ramp to the southbound lanes of Interstate 15 from the beltway.

It appears the driver of a black 2007 Ford Focus, who had been headed east on the beltway, lost control on the ramp and went off the road, where the vehicle overturned, Hixson said.

The male driver and two passengers were ejected from the vehicle, he said. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Medical crews transported the passengers — a male and a female — to University Medical Center in critical condition, Hixson said.

NHP has closed the ramp as authorities investigate and clear the scene, he said.
